Hobbing is a method of processing gears based on the principle of generating. The tooth transmission chain between the tool and the tooth blank must maintain the accuracy of motion according to a certain transmission ratio. However, these transmission chains are composed of a series of transmission elements. Their manufacturing and assembly errors will inevitably concentrate and reflect on the end parts of the transmission chain during the motion transmission process, resulting in uneven relative motion and affecting the processing accuracy of the gear teeth. Variations in the common normal length are the largest errors reflecting the uneven distribution of gear teeth, which are mainly caused by the uneven rotational accuracy of the worm gear pair of the hobbing machine's worktable, as well as wear on the circular guide rail of the hobbing machine's worktable, and misalignment between the indexing worm and the circular guide rail of the worktable.
